I thought it was going to be one of those weeks and it has turned out just so… so far.

I decided to do a quick reorganisation of my meagre stash this morning (as good as you can do with a little one belly diving into the bags!).  I think I have a much better system now.  Instead of putting the nice and the not so nice yarn in different bags (which was always a hard call), I now have a bag with yarn that I have decided on a project and yarn which I haven’t.  Not only does it feel that I can see my next projects all together which means that I can prioritise a bit more, they feel a bit more solid and I feel I can let go of the yarn a bit better.  Why is it that I buy yarn with a clear purpose in my mind and then welch, thinking that perhaps a better project will come along, perhaps I could find a better use, is there too much or too little for the project.  This already seems cleaner.. there it is, just waiting for me to pluck the project from the bag and get going.  When our regular computer is up and running I am going to print off all the patterns and put them with the yarn, all ready. Whew!

Also decided that I am going to use a more solid notebook for my wip’s and fo’s.  I have been using the scrappy graph paper for the designing and thinking through but I really do need something better to record the final info for later use.  I also want to keep the ball bands and a remnant of the yarn which is why it won’t work online.  I’ll get one today.

My next list will be the Christmas list of pressies and to get the list of projects committed.  After a load of washing and some serious drawing with my boy!

I do the same thing with my sewing projects. Once I have decided what I am going to make and with what supplies I put them all in a clear zip lock bag with the instructions. Then when I want to start the project it is there ready to go.

What would we do without clear ziplock bags???
It has really made a difference to the chatter in my head about my projects and made it so much clearer as to what I want to do.
